In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
USED - For the double page spread I used an interview, this is common in music magazines as specific questions can be asked in order to receive the data they need to appeal to their audience.
How does your media product represent a particular social groups?
What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
I think that IPC Media would be a good institution to distribute my media product. IPC Media is the UK's leading consumer magazine publisher with approximately 90 brands and selling 350 million magazines every year. IPC Media publishes only one music magazine, NME, which has mainly a male readership and focuses on the genre, rock. However, my magazine has a different target audience of mainly females who listen to mainstream music, therefore if IPC media was to distribute ‘NOISE’ magazine they would be welcoming a whole new audience. IPC Media’s printed brands reach almost two thirds of UK women and the institution publishes magazines such as ‘Look’ and ‘Now’, who also have a female audience, this is another reason why my product would be a success, as it will be filling a space in the market.
